First Grade Class Teacher Fall 2012
Oct 06 2011 | Kimberton Waldorf School | Kimberton, PA
Kimberton Waldorf School in Southeastern Pennsylvania is seeking a First Grade Class Teacher for September 2012. Waldorf training and Waldorf teaching experience are preferred.
Kimberton Waldorf School, founded in 1941, is the second oldest Waldorf School in North America. Located in Chester County, PA, on a beautiful 432-acre biodynamic farm, the school serves 320 students in Early Childhood through Grade 12. A full spectrum of specialty teachers works with class teachers to carry all our students. We offer a full Waldorf curriculum, including the visual arts, music and orchestra, gardening, eurythmy, handwork, woodwork, sculpture, drama, outdoor education and athletics.
Kimberton is a founding member of the Association of Waldorf Schools of North America and is accredited by both AWSNA and the Middle States Association of Schools and Colleges. While celebrating its 70th year, the school is experiencing an exciting renewal. We are in our third year of a collaborative governance process led by a four-person Governing Team, composed of three teachers and the business manager. Chosen by faculty and staff and ratified by the Board, their work is supported by Core Teams in the Upper and Lower Schools. These management teams carry the visionary leadership and day-to-day management of the school. The Pedagogical Leadership Group leads the faculty in weekly sessions in which we gather insights into how to meet the needs of students today. The Board of Trustees is supportively focused on strategies for sustainability, guided by the vision of the teachers.
Competitive salary and medical, dental, tuition remission, and professional development benefits and retirement plan are offered. Please send a resume and brief biographical sketch to Governing Team, PO Box 350, Kimberton, PA 19442, or e-mail to admin@kimberton.org.
