Founded on Rudolf Steiner’s humanitarian curriculum, The Denver Waldorf School awakens and inspires students’ critical thinking, emotional intelligence and artistic expression, preparing them to bring relevant contributions to the world.
The Denver Waldorf School, a non-profit, independent, co-ed school serving students in the early childhood program through high school, seeks a fundraising professional to manage all development activities including: expand our school’s donor base, grow community partnerships, manage events, and support the process for the full implementation of our comprehensive master plan.
Responsibilities:
Development Goals
• Develop, coordinate, and implement annual development plan
• Direct the Development Committee in establishing short- and long-term goals and strategies
• Develop fundraising projections, complete with budget and analyses
• Inform the school’s annual and five-year budget development process
• Establish benchmark indicators for reviewing success of development activities and ensure that systems are in place to track results of indicators and fundraising efforts
• Provide reporting mechanisms, such as historical fundraising records and trends, which will allow for effective analysis and response
• Maintain accurate records and report current fundraising numbers and trends to Board and College as necessary
Development Relationships
• Develop and foster relationships with large donors in the community through benefactor events and personal one-on-one meetings (Community is defined as Board, parent body, alumni, alumni parents, grandparents, businesses, corporations, and the greater Denver Community)
• Work with the Annual Giving Chair and Committee, providing leadership and direction for the Annual Giving Campaign
• Coordinate staff and volunteers for all development activities and events
Future Goals
• Develop a strategy and timeline and eventually launch a Capital Campaign
• Work closely with Alumni Association identifying and cultivating strong alumni relations
• Research foundations and other grant sources
• Work closely with Grandparent Association identifying and cultivating strong grandparents relations

Qualifications:
• Several years of direct fundraising experience
• Previous experience in a senior management role
• Exceptional written, oral, interpersonal and presentation skills
• The ability to effectively interface with DWS’s Board of Directors, College of Teachers and staff.
• A Bachelor’s Degree is required
• Knowledge of Waldorf school philosophy is preferred; willingness to acquire an understanding of Waldorf education and a passion for our mission is required.
Compensation:
We offer a salary range of $30,000 – 42,000 based on qualifications and experience. We offer full benefits, including retirement, medical and dental, disability, and tuition remission for eligible dependents. Opportunities for ongoing professional development are strongly supported.
