Northern Calif. Kindergarten Teacher Opening
Oct 25 2011 | Berkeley Rose School | Berkeley, CA
Berkeley Rose School has an immediate opening for a Waldorf-certified kindergarten teacher (LifeWays training and ECE credits an additional plus).
Our new kindergarten teacher will be a self-starter, possessing a strong sense of herself or himself as both an early childhood educator and a nurturer. The teacher will also possess a pioneering spirit, and excellent communication skills, enjoying the work of parent educator through home visits, weekly newsletters, and community events. Our interim teacher and early childhood faculty will work to facilitate a smooth transition for our new teacher. Our kindergarten class currently has eight children and an assistant, and will accept up to five new students on a rolling basis. The children enjoy daily hikes to and play at the nearby park, and gardening at the school’s adjacent community garden plot.
Employee benefits include health, retirement, tuition credit, wellness bonuses, and more--one of our primary goals is keeping our teachers happy and rested, with an eye toward their future. Salary will be commensurate with experience.
Berkeley Rose School, now in its third year, has expanded into a 46-student body, new location in North-Central Berkeley, and first grade (growing a grade a year up to 8th grade thereafter). As a community, Berkeley Rose School offers an environment where communication is direct, supportive, and open, and where diversity of all kinds is supported. It is a school that is accessible, non-rigid, and judgment-free, and works with families in exploring and discovering the best choices for their children in a culture brimming with options. Berkeley Rose School is a nonprofit 501c3, and is in the process of applying for AWSNA accreditation. On our website’s About Us page, you may view the dynamic group of educators who make up our happy, growing school.
