Class Teacher

Nov 17 2011 | The Waldorf School of Garden City | Long Island, New York

The Waldorf School of Garden City is currently accepting applications for a Class Teacher to join our vibrant and diverse school community. Requirements include an undergraduate degree and completion of Waldorf teacher training, with advanced degree work a plus. Dedicated to working out of Rudolf Steiner's picture of child development, our faculty reflects a blend of youth and experience, and our school values and encourages both creativity and initiative. The School’s comprehensive benefits package includes health, life, and disability insurance, along with a school-funded retirement account, and ample funds for professional development. With a salary range of $40,000 to $65,000 (based upon experience), a generous relocation package, and supplemental salary options available, our school is committed to supporting its faculty.

Serving 336 students from early childhood through high school, the Waldorf School of Garden City offers a number of additional programs, including Parent-Child Classes, an Afternoon Program and Homework Club, as well as Summer Programs in both Garden City and at the School’s 250-acre extended campus in New Hampshire. Long Island is home to a strong anthroposophical community, and the Winkler Center for Adult Learning provides a well-established Foundation Studies at our School facility. The Waldorf School also has strong relationships to Adelphi University and other area colleges.
