Grade One Class Teacher for 2012
Nov 23 2011 | Water's Edge Waldorf School | Wauconda, Illinois
Water’s Edge Waldorf School, located in Wauconda, Illinois, is seeking a Class Teacher to teach our Grade One class starting in the fall of 2012.
Wauconda is located in the heart of beautiful Lake County, Illinois, home to 75 inland lakes and the beautiful beaches of Lake Michigan. Rolling farmland, prairie, and 25,000 acres of forest preserve offer great hiking and biking. The cultural life and anthroposophical opportunities of both Chicago and Milwaukee are about an hour away, as is the Michael Fields Agricultural Institute, a world-renowned research and education institute for biodynamic agriculture.
Established in 1998, Water’s Edge offers parent child classes, preschool and kindergarten programs for children aged three to six, and a grade school program for children in grades one through eight. We currently serve about 90 students in preschool through grade eight, so our grades classes are smaller in size. Our campus offers lots of open play space, an organic garden, and a prairie to explore. Our curriculum includes music, a strings program, Spanish, German, handwork, woodworking, movement/games, and eurythmy. We have a talented and flexible faculty, a committed board, and an involved and supportive parent community.
Our ideal candidate will have Waldorf teacher training or equivalent Waldorf teaching experience and hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree or the equivalent. Prior teaching experience, especially in a Waldorf school, is preferred. We are looking for a teacher who is skilled and enthusiastic about working with both children and parents, is dedicated to building strong collegial relationships, and is committed to ongoing study and self-development.
Our compensation package includes a competitive salary with increments for Waldorf teaching experience, full tuition remission for faculty children, health and dental insurance, and funds for professional development.
Interested candidates should fax, mail, or e-mail a letter of interest, resume, three references, and a brief biography, as soon as possible to Human Resources, Water’s Edge Waldorf School, 150 W. Bonner Road, Wauconda, IL 60084. Fax: 847-717-7314. Email: info@watersedgewaldorf.org Subject: Human Resources.
