High School History Teacher
Nov 27 2011 | Seattle Waldorf High School | Seattle, Washington
Is History your passion? The Seattle Waldorf School has an opening for an historian to join our high school faculty in Fall of 2012.
We are a thirty-year old Waldorf School located in the Pacific Northwest city of Seattle, a city of beautiful and striking contrasts. Surrounded by two mountain ranges, the Olympics and the Cascades, interlaced with fresh water lakes and the Puget Sound, Seattle is a city of both trees and technology, symphony and grunge music. The three campuses of Seattle Waldorf School (www.seattlewaldorf.org) are positioned so that the very youngest students can spend time daily outside in Nature while the very oldest students can easily walk to the symphony, the ballet, repertory theater, art museums and libraries and are a short bus ride away from the rich resources of the University of Washington.
The Seattle Waldorf High School, in its fifth year, a growing and thriving community of 80 students and 27 faculty members and staff, located at Seattle Center, brings together the eighth grade students from the five K-8 Waldorf Schools around Puget Sound. We are a high school faculty of diverse background and interests committed to meeting the changing needs of our 21st century students through our daily collaborative work with both the gifts and challenges of the Waldorf High School Curriculum, and through our working out of Anthroposophy.
The preferred candidate for this full-time faculty position is one who wishes to join our circle of colleagues and take up the daily work, who will have graduate work in History or a related discipline, completion of Waldorf Teacher Training, and experience teaching high school students.
Salary commensurate with degrees and experience. Closing date: February 1, 2011.
Please address all inquiries to Lisa Ayrault, Seattle Waldorf High School Director: layrault@seattlewaldorf.org
