First Grade Class Teacher
Dec 02 2011 | Sacramento Waldorf School | Fair Oaks, California
The Sacramento Waldorf School invites applicants to apply for the position of First Grade Class Teacher for the 2012-13 school year. We anticipate the majority of our First Grade students will come from our own Kindergarten classes. Our new colleague will be committed to working from the indications of Rudolf Steiner and his picture of human development and interested in joining a circle of enthusiastic, like-minded colleagues. We seek a teacher with Waldorf training, a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution, and experience in a Waldorf classroom.
Our School is located on the banks of the American River to the east of California’s capital city, Sacramento. We have a 22-acre campus that includes a large multi-purpose building, classrooms, woods, a stream, athletic and playing fields, and a small working farm. We are ideally situated between the coast and San Francisco and the Sierra Nevada Range. The local cost of living is reasonable and there are many opportunities for year-round outdoor activities.
Our School offers a full Waldorf curriculum for over 400 pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade students. Our curriculum is enriched by a wide range of specialty subjects, with additional support available for teachers in grades 6-8. We have a full complement of pedagogical and administrative staff.
We offer a generous benefits package including health insurance for you and your dependents, dental insurance, participation in a 403(b) retirement plan (matching funds available after two years), tuition remission, and support for professional development. We are neighbors of Rudolf Steiner College with many opportunities for courses or lectures. Salaries are competitive and include an allowance for Waldorf training and years of experience.
The Sacramento Waldorf School is an equal opportunity employer.
If you are interested in joining us, please send a resume and letter of interest to our Lower School Coordinator, Julie MacArthur: jmacarthur@sacwaldorf.org. An application form can be found on our web site, www.sacwaldorf.org.
