1st Grade Class Teacher

The preferred candidate would have Waldorf Teacher Training and a deep commitment to Waldorf principles; love of children and teaching; prior classroom teaching experience; good interpersonal/communication skills; the willingness to cultivate effective parent-teacher communication and parent education; and the ability to participate in our active community life.
Salary/Benefits: The current salary for 2011-2012 is $38,574 and includes tuition remission, 50 % health insurance and more. We offer an on-site peer mentoring program as well as the opportunity for external support of new faculty members from master teachers.
Our school was founded in 1989 and is fully accredited by both AWSNA and the Connecticut Association of Independent Schools (CAIS). In June 2011 we graduated our seventh 8th Grade. We are a Nursery through 8th grade school with 2 Early Childhood classes and 2 Parent/child Playgroups. Our vibrant community sponsors Anthroposophical study groups, fairs, festivals, handwork groups, and parenting workshops.
