Create an 8-Year Journey in Northern California
Dec 28 2011 | Berkeley Rose School | Berkeley, CA
Berkeley Rose School, now in its third year, has a 46-student body, new location in North-Central Berkeley, and preschool, kindergarten, and first grade programs (growing a grade a year up to 8th grade). The school is seeking a Waldorf teacher for its fall 2012-13 first grade class.
Teachers who are certified in Waldorf education and have extensive teaching experience are invited to apply. Ideal candidates are self-starters, collaborators, and creators who possess a strong sense of themselves as both educators and nurturers.
Employee benefits include full health, tuition credit, bonuses, and more--one of the school’s primary goals is keeping its teachers happy, with an eye toward their future. Salary will be commensurate with experience.
As a community, Berkeley Rose offers an environment in which communication is transparent and compassionate, and where diversity of all kinds is supported, celebrated, and woven into the community and curriculum. It is a school that is accessible and judgment-free, and works with families in exploring and discovering the best choices for their children in a culture brimming with options. Berkeley Rose is a nonprofit 501c3, and is in the process of applying for AWSNA accreditation. On the About Us page, you may view the dynamic group of educators who make up this joyous, growing school.
The early childhood program is a fully licensed and enrolled (with wait list) preschool and kindergarten program lead by master Waldorf teachers. The board and parent body of both the early childhood and grades programs are strong and committed to growing the school in a responsible and timely manner, following best practices set forth by AWSNA and other Waldorf resources. Demand for a Waldorf school in the Berkeley-Oakland area is tremendous, and Berkeley Rose has been receiving student applications for all programs for Fall 2012. In addition to festival life, the school offers parent-tot and adult Waldorf enrichment classes and seminars to the wider community throughout the year.
