The Rudolf Steiner School of Ann Arbor is seeking a Pre-Kindergarten Teacher for the 2012-13 school year. Housed on two beautiful campuses in Ann Arbor, Michigan, our comprehensive Waldorf program serves children from a Parent/Infant Program through the 12th Grade.
The Rudolf Steiner School of Ann Arbor is celebrating its 32nd year and is an accredited member of AWSNA and of ISACS (Independent School Association of the Central States).
Our Lower School Campus, situated on 11 wooded and grassy acres, houses our Pre-Kindergarten through 8th Grades and currently enrolls 220 students. The High School enrollment is 95 students. We offer a rich Waldorf curriculum that includes two world languages (Spanish and German), handwork, art, woodworking, orchestra, singing, Eurythmy, movement and gardening.
The ideal candidate has training and experience working with the Waldorf Early Childhood curriculum, holds a Waldorf Teacher Training Certificate and a bachelors or masters degree. We value excellent teaching and classroom management skills, as well as a deep understanding of child development. We also seek a colleague committed to building strong collegial and parent relationships, and one who is committed to self-development.
This position, though part-time, is considered a Program Lead Teacher position. This position is responsible for the morning portion of the Pre-Kindergarten program which is held 5 days per week. We are pleased to offer the qualifying candidate a competitive salary based on experience. In addition you will be provided with extensive administrative and collegial support, including an experienced mentor and access to training and conferences.
Interested applicants should submit a resume, 3 references and a short biographical sketch to Peggy Wilson, Lower School Coordinator. The deadline for submissions is January 31, 2012.
