First Grade Teacher
Jan 16 2012 | Waldorf School of Princeton | Princeton, NJ
Waldorf School of Princeton is a well established school located on twenty acres of fields, forests and creeks just outside of Princeton, NJ. Over 166 students from preschool through 8th grade are taught by inspired Waldorf trained teachers. We are looking for a dedicated class teacher to join our educational mission.
Our curriculum includes French, gardening, handwork, woodwork, music, eurythmy, and movement and games. Our education support program includes extra lesson and therapeutic eurythmy. The school is committed to supporting our teachers through a robust mentoring and development program. The mentoring program includes both in house mentors and outside experts. There is a weekend Foundation program that invites faculty to both teach and participate in classes. Our Board is active and supportive of faculty initiatives and healthy finances. They hold a long term vision for the school. Waldorf School of Princeton is a full member of AWSNA, as well as of the New Jersey Association of Independent Schools. The Princeton area has over ten independent schools within ten miles, making it an exciting educational environment to work. The school was founded by the Princeton Anthroposophical Society and it hosts a First Class.
Princeton, located midway between New York City and Philadelphia has many cultural offerings and despite the jokes about New Jersey is a very beautiful area. There is high awareness of good farming practices and there are many CSA farms in the area. The school’s neighboring property is a biodynamic farm with cows, goats and chickens.
We offer a competitive base salary plus $1,000 for each year of experience. Benefits include health insurance for the entire family, full tuition waivers, pension contributions, disability insurance and funds for continuing education. Qualified applicants will have an undergraduate degree and Waldorf teacher training or similar experience.
Please send resume and references to facultychair@princetonwaldorf.org
