First Grade Teacher
Feb 15 2012 | Shepherd Valley Waldorf School | Niwot, Colorado
Shepherd Valley Waldorf School is currently accepting applications for First Grade Teacher for our 2012/13 First Grade Class. The ideal candidate will have Waldorf training, Waldorf teaching experience and be capable of working effectively with parents and colleagues. This class is expected to have an enrollment of 12-15 children who are energetic and eager and from warm, caring and committed families. We offer a strong mentoring program and colleagues who love teaching and who work together in a collaborative manner.
Shepherd Valley Waldorf School, founded in 1993, is a Pre-KG through Eighth Grade School in Niwot, Colorado. We are a Developing School on the path to AWSNA membership with many opportunities ahead. We offer a base salary plus an additional 1.5% of the base for each year of Waldorf teaching experience. We offer medical coverage, disability insurance, life insurance, tuition remission and a pension plan.
The school, located midway between Boulder and Longmont, is set on a five-acre campus within 38 acres of agricultural-zoned land, with breathtaking views of the Rocky Mountains. This setting provides a wonderful rural atmosphere for festivals and community life, and contributes substantially to a rich curriculum supported by enthusiastic and experienced teachers, devoted, hard-working parents, and a healthy, energetic student body. Current programs include a summer camp, parent-tot class and Pre-KG through Eighth Grade.
In addition to Anthroposophical communities in Boulder and Denver, the Front Range metro area supports several elementary Waldorf Schools, three Waldorf High Schools, several independent Waldorf Kindergartens and numerous Waldorf home and day groups, plus a variety of Waldorf and Anthroposophically-based study groups and initiatives.
Please send resume, a general letter of interest, and contact information for three references to Shepherd Valley Waldorf School, Attn: First Grade Teacher Hiring Committee, 6500 W. Dry Creek Pkwy, Niwot, CO 80503. E-mail to admin@shepherdvalley.org.
