First Grade Position 2013-2014

Great Oak School, a Developing Member of WECAN, is located in Tomball, Texas, a suburb of Houston. The school was founded in 2009 by inspired families and Waldorf-trained teachers. We are seeking a First Grade teacher for the Fall 2013 school year.
Additional responsibilities: meeting attendance, committee support, faculty collaboration, and outreach participation. Applicant must be Waldorf trained preferably with some classroom experience. Additionally, we seek applicants who are Anthroposophically-inspired in their work, and have enthusiasm and energy to contribute in creating a beloved Waldorf School in the Houston area.
Houston is the 4th largest city in the U.S., with an ample number of annual festivals, museums, restaurants, theaters, and cultural opportunities. Great Oak School is on a large wooded campus surrounded by lush pine forest among family-friendly communities such as Old Town Spring, The Woodlands, Magnolia, and Tomball. Outdoor opportunities in Houston include lakes, creeks, forest, beach, and hill country just to the west. Austin and San Antonio are within 3-4 hours drive.
