Summer Camp Teachers—Forest KIndergarten
Mar 25 2013 | The Garland School | Brattleboro VT
We are seeking an energetic and well-rounded individual who can confidently lead groups of children age 2-6 in an outdoor setting for our eight week program that lasts from June 17th to August 9th. Summer camp is based on our lovely school campus with eleven acres of forest and stream. Summer teachers work as a team and are supported by the year-round staff of the school.
Along with traditional Waldorf education, the school's educational philosophy incorporates the work of Emi Pickler and Helle Heckman. We spend our days outside in either our hemlock shaded play yard, walking along the miles of trails, exploring in the old growth pine woods, playing and working in the spiral vegetable garden and wading in the stream. The school menu is designed using the insights of Weston A. Price and all summer staff participate in the preparation of our delicious food. We serve a local and organic breakfast, lunch, and snack daily.
The ideal candidate would have Waldorf training and or experience and be enthusiastic and knowledgeable about sharing the outdoors and cooking with children. Pay is commensurate with experience. A minimum of a four week commitment is necessary and preference will be given to those willing to work more.
