Early Childhood/Kindergarten Lead Teacher for Fall 2017
Jan 11 2017 | Prairie Moon Waldorf School | Lawrence, KS
Ideal candidates will have a passion for Waldorf education, a Waldorf Early Childhood Training Certificate, and experience teaching in a Waldorf early childhood classroom. Candidates holding a bachelor’s degree who have a serious interest in Waldorf education and, if untrained, a willingness to begin their Waldorf early-childhood teacher training will be considered. Candidates will also need to be or become “Lead Teacher” certified, as required by the KS Department of Health & Environment, per our childcare license.
We seek a teacher who works well with others, as well as independently, and who possesses a pioneering spirit and enthusiasm for bringing Waldorf education to the heart of America.
Our Anthroposophical roots
Waldorf education is the principal expression of Anthroposophical thinking in this area; however there is also significant interest in Biodynamic agriculture and Anthroposophic architecture. Anthroposophical and Waldorf education study groups are active and a lecture series addresses the community’s strong interest in the roots of Waldorf education and related subjects.
What you should expect
First, expect to find a supportive, educated community that genuinely loves their Waldorf school. Second, expect to find a range of housing, options for shopping, including a well-established natural foods cooperative store, a thriving farmer’s market, many locally-owned businesses and restaurants, and a responsive city government. Third, our salary range is $26,500–$33,000 and will be commensurate with experience and training. Full health insurance coverage is included for the teacher as well as Tuition Remission.
Prairie Moon Waldorf School does not discriminate on the basis of age, race, sexual orientation, religion, or ethnic background in the admission of students or the hiring of personnel.
To Apply: Please send a resume and cover letter, as well as a short biography that includes a description of your relationship to Anthroposophy and Waldorf Education, to:
