Mountain Sage Community School is a K-8 public, charter school inspired by Waldorf education and sustainable living, located in Fort Collins, Colorado. Mountain Sage has over 240 students currently enrolled in our rich and varied program.
Summary of Position
Conducts formal and informal assessment for the identification, placement and programming of students for special education services. This position is for 8 hours per week.
Perform individual psychological assessments on students
Assist in the planning and intervention for students consistent with the IEP
Provide direct and indirect services to special education students, parents, and teachers
Act as a member of a multi-disciplinary staffing team
Write reports and maintains student records
Provide consultation to parents on interventions
Advocates for students based on professional and ethical guidelines as well as state standards
Teach coping and problems solving skills through individual and small group counseling
Provide alternative adaptations to address students needs
Foster independent function in students
Participate in or facilitate staff meetings, when appropriate
Participate in professional growth responsibilities
Collaborate with others to fulfill responsibilities related to distract goals and priorities
Perform other job related duties as assigned
Education and Experience
Masters degree with an endorsement in psychology required
Psychology experience with students in an educational setting preferred
Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of National and State ethical standards for Psychologists Knowledge of District/State/Federal Procedures for Initials and Triennials in Poudre School District
Ability to communicate with students, parents, staff and community
Ability to organize and prioritize work
Ability to be a part of/work with a team
Ability to set high standards and achieve them
Enthusiasm to insure student engagement and achievement
Valid Colorado Special Services license in School Psychology
