Admissions Associate

City of Lakes Waldorf School seeks a dynamic individual for the role of Admissions Associate who will provide assistance to the Admissions Director to achieve and maintain full enrollment. The Admissions Associate will help to manage all aspects of the recruitment, admissions, enrollment and retention efforts for students in early childhood through grade eight. The ideal candidate will bring experience in independent school recruitment, parent relations and admissions. An in-depth understanding of the Waldorf philosophy and the ability to articulate how it is applied in the curriculum and at home is essential.

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Assist with the process of admitting new students to the school including event planning, outreach, attendance at school fairs, and cultivation of relationships
• Present the City of Lakes Waldorf School specifically, and Waldorf education in general, to prospective families
• Manage database entry and information for inquiries, applications and accepted students
• Assist with annual re-enrollment process for Early Childhood and Grades 1-8
• Participate in work that supports diversity within the school community and actively engaging in ongoing diversity training
• Support Admissions Director and Tuition Assistance Committee around TA awards

Qualifications:

• Outgoing, enthusiastic, warm and friendly presence; ability to build rapport with parents,
children and teachers
• Strong interpersonal skills, cross-cultural exposure and knowledge; excellent written and spoken communication skills
• In-depth understanding of and ability to articulate Waldorf education and CLWS’s vision and mission
• Knowledge of issues within Waldorf movement
• Organizational Skills; ability to prioritize; strong PC & computing skills
• Database experience
• Available for full time on-campus weekly schedule, and ability to attend occasional after-school, evening and weekend events
• Bachelor’s Degree
• Marketing background a plus
• Commitment to working collaboratively

Reports to: Admissions Director

Salary: Commensurate with experience

Start Date: Between May 1 and July 1, 2017

Our School and Community
City of Lakes Waldorf School is an accredited, full member school of the Association of Waldorf Schools of North America and the Independent School Association of the Central States. We offer a pre-school to Grade 8 education for more than 270 students, including Spanish, Eurythmy, movement and games, handwork, woodwork, circus and music (recorder, strings and chorus) and after school sports programs. Our parent/child program introduces young families to Waldorf education. Our experienced and creative faculty, led by the College of Teachers, is dedicated to excellence in Waldorf education and the development of curriculum to reflect our diverse, urban community. Our school celebrates its 28th year in 2016-17 and is currently implementing a strategic plan for the future. Our board of trustees and talented and dedicated parent community support our 50 full and part time members of the faculty and administrative staff.
