Camellia Waldorf School is seeking applicants for a Pedagogical Chair position for the 2017-2018 school year for a part time position with potential to later expand to a full-time position.

Founded in 1989, Camellia Waldorf School is an AWSNA accredited urban school with over 120 students from diverse backgrounds. In 2017, our school purchased property and relocated to the Pocket area in Sacramento. The Camellia community that surrounds our children includes devotion and support of a strong parent body and Board of Trustees.

We offer Parent Toddler classes, preschool and kindergarten classes, and an elementary and middle school. Our program includes Spanish, Music, Eurythmy, Handwork, Woodworking, Movement and more. As a school, we are committed to the fullest development of the curriculum, the well of the faculty and staff, the continued study of anthroposophy, and a healthy balanced budget.

The Pedagogical Chair provides leadership to the school, working out of a model of servant and collaborative leadership. The Pedagogical Chair works closely with the Faculty, College of Teachers, Administrator, and the Board of Trustees to plan and implement the pedagogical objectives of the school to ensure that the highest quality of Waldorf education is provided to the students. In addition to having a widely visible presence throughout the school, the Pedagogical Chair is available to answer questions and concerns about the curriculum from parents and the greater community, mediate/facilitate parent-teacher and teacher-teacher relations where necessary, oversee teacher professional development, mentoring and evaluation, and represent the school in public situations. This person leads in keeping the “big” pedagogical picture while holding administrative and pedagogical accountability, through working with the faculty to deepen knowledge and understanding of the curriculum and the children.

This individual will be a strong communicator with solid leadership and human resources experience, and who is full of energy and enjoys working hard. They should be open-minded, patient, and relate well to all kinds of people, with a will to embrace our diverse community. We also seek an individual that is forward thinking, strategic, and able learn and adapt to successes and failures to strengthen our school.

Requirements:
- Education: Individual must have a certificate in Waldorf Education.
Work experience: Individual must have a minimum of five years in Waldorf education.
