Overview of Position:
Waldorf School at Moraine Farm is seeking a qualified Extra Lesson teacher to work collaboratively with the faculty, administration and the Education Support Committee to provide extra lesson assessments and supportive activities for the healthy development of individual students and classes. This is a part-time contract position. Duties include:
• Conducting Second Grade Assessments, and providing written reports and meetings for parents as needed
• Providing individual remedial lessons at school, and meet with teachers to share “carry over” ideas for the classroom.
• Conducting ongoing individual Extra Lesson assessments as requested by teachers through a process with the Education Support Committee, for students showing needs
• Participation with the Education Support Committee in making recommendations for additional (non-academic) ongoing support for any student or class in need
• Conducting classroom observations as requested by teachers through the Education Support Committee
• Supporting teachers in bringing classroom movement, circle games and Extra Lesson drawing & painting activities that support social and physical development, as well as classroom learning
• Supporting teachers at parent meetings where learning or behavior may be impacted by developmental gaps in sensory or reflex integration.
• Clearly articulating the Extra Lesson work and its inherent and unique value to healthy childhood development as part of a robust Waldorf education

Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree (B.A.) or equivalent from four-year college or university
• Certified in Waldorf’s Extra Lesson Remedial Program
• At least three years of teaching experience
• Strong interpersonal, communication, writing and organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications
• Master’s degree (M.A.) or equivalent
• Trained in special education, including reading and interpreting neuropsychological and IEP reports
• Broad experience in the field of special education and alternative therapeutic support options
• Waldorf early childhood or class teacher experience



ABOUT WALDORF SCHOOL at Moraine FARM:
Our healthy, thriving school, now in its 30th year, is a full member of AWSNA. Our school has approximately 120 children enrolled in nursery through eighth grade. Children in grades one through eight participate in several subject classes, including Physical Education, Music (Strings and Orchestra), Handwork, and Foreign Languages (German and Spanish). Our Early Childhood program includes kindergarten, nursery, and parent-child classes. Our faculty is a diverse, multi-generational group of men and women. We are a mix of both new and experienced teachers. We are committed to faculty support and development and provide ongoing mentoring and regular evaluation. Our governance structure includes a full time Executive Director, Faculty Administrator and a College of Teachers. We enjoy strong collaborative relationships among our Faculty, College, Board, and Parents.
We are located in a picturesque area just north of Boston, Massachusetts. Our school is now in our fourth year at our new campus on historic Moraine Farm.
