The Development Director of the Waldorf School of Atlanta leads a multi-faceted fund development program that results in successful fundraising while growing and strengthening the fabric of our school community. The successful candidate will work closely with administrative leaders and support staff along with the Board of Trustees Development Committee to realize a positive culture of giving within the community and stronger awareness of our mission beyond the school itself.

Our School and Community:
Founded in 1986 as a preschool/kindergarten program, The Waldorf School of Atlanta graduated its first eighth grade class in 2000. We offer preschool to grade eight education for approximately 240 students, including Spanish, Eurythmy, Movement Education (Spatial Dynamics and Eurythmy), Music (Recorder, Strings, Chorus, Drumming), Handwork, Woodwork, Practical Arts, and Sports Programs. Our parent/child program warmly introduces young families to Waldorf education. The school is fully accredited by four local and national accrediting bodies - NAIS, AdvancED, NCPSA, and AWSNA.

Our experienced and creative faculty work closely with an active and dedicated Board of Trustees and a committed and talented parent community. An established Core Faculty with years of Waldorf experience share a strong commitment to studying and working with Rudolf Steiner’s picture of the developing child.

Areas of Responsibility:
• Oversee and manage the school’s two annual fundraising campaigns: Annual Fund and Georgia School Choice Scholarship Fund
• Manage and undertake activities related to donor cultivation, solicitation, recognition and stewardship
• Act as a resource to Board members on development related matters
• Develop strategies to maintain relationships with alumni parents
• Cultivate relationships with the Decatur community and surrounding non-profits
• Along with other school Leaders, serves as an advocate for the community-established vision for the school

Candidates for the position will have a Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of fundraising/development experience in a non-profit or school setting required.
