Lower School Woodwinds and Band Teacher

The Sacramento Waldorf School is seeking an experienced woodwinds and band teacher for the 2017-2018 school year. The candidate must be able to teach basic band instruments such as flute, clarinet, saxophone and trumpet. Familiarity with Waldorf pedagogy is preferred but not required. This position works with other members of our music faculty to create a strong curriculum of age-appropriate music instruction and performance activities for students in grades 5-8. There are 1-2 evening music performances a year that are required.

This position encompasses six hours of instructional time per week. Teaching days are Monday and Wednesday.

Sacramento Waldorf School is an established early childhood through 12th grade independent private school located in Fair Oaks, just east of Sacramento, in Northern California. The school offers a full Waldorf program to more than 400 students. The beautiful twenty-two-acre site overlooks the American River and affords many opportunities for outdoor and environmental education.

Established in 1959, SWS is the oldest Waldorf School in Northern California. We are an accredited full member of AWSNA (Association of Waldorf Schools of North America) and have also been accredited by WASC (Western Association of Schools and Colleges) since 1983.
