About us

Taikura Rudolf Steiner School is a Waldorf School arising from the educational principles and anthroposophical motives indicated by Rudolf Steiner. Taikura is a co-educational state integrated composite school for students in Years 1 to 13, located in Hastings, New Zealand.

Taikura is seeking an experienced, highly effective and inspirational Principal who will continue to drive the school’s vision to keep the special character of the education fresh, alive and evolving within the cultural, historical, educational and geographic environment of Aotearoa New Zealand and Hawke’s Bay.

The role

The Principal of Taikura has overall accountability for the successful management and professional leadership of the School. Our new Principal needs to be a skilled leader and communicator who is able to articulate the direction, values and priorities and build and nurture connections with both staff and families.

Along with leading the Management Group including the Associate Principals, Kindergarten Manager and Office Manager, well developed business acumen is vital in order to operate an effective budget and control, monitor, manage and report on finances and the management of resources.

As the scope of the role includes the oversight and management of three kindergarten sites in conjunction with the Primary and Secondary level schools, strong relationships, consultation and interaction with our teams is essential to maintaining the health and wellbeing of the school within a strong and engaged community.

To be successful in the role, experience in and a commitment to Steiner education would be advantageous along strong organisation skills and a passion to make a difference to our learners and our community.
