Parent/Child Class Teacher

Portland Waldorf School is seeking qualified candidates to teach in parent/child classes of 2-2.5 hours in the mornings to small groups of families with children under the age of three. Teacher responsibilities include curriculum planning and activity preparation, parent communication, classroom maintenance, meeting attendance, collaborative work with other faculty and staff regarding student care, outreach and admissions, school festivals and events, etc.
Ideal candidates have experience teaching in a Waldorf Early Childhood setting, including parent education and parent-child classes, and have completed some or all of the Waldorf Early Childhood training at an accredited teacher training center.

Minimum Requirements:
Abide by State of Oregon regulations for Child Chair Certification including holding of current Food Handler and Infant and Child First Aid/CPR card and “Recognizing and Reporting Child Abuse” certification
Maintain enrolled status in Oregon Central Background Registry
Training and experience in teaching or assisting in an early childhood setting
An understanding of early childhood development congruent with a Waldorf educational perspective
Ability to work collaboratively with other faculty and staff
