Pre-School/KIndergarten Teachers 2018/2019

Oct 19 2017 | Seeking | Las Vegas, Nevada

Mojave Springs School Inspired by Waldorf opened in August of 2017 in Las Vegas. We are the first school in our city using the Waldorf curriculum, and we are fully enrolled with 17 students in one mixed age class, ages 2-5.

We are looking for up to 3 early childhood/kindergarten teachers for the 2018/2019 school year who can lead and guide us as we expand to three classes including pre-school (ages 2.9-4) and two-year kindergarten (ages 4-6) classes. Both lead and assistant teachers encouraged to apply.

This is a unique opportunity to be part of a founding team and contribute to the culture and structure of our school for many generations. Our vision is to grow at least one grade each year until we reach our full potential of early childhood through end of high school.

Waldorf education is new to this city and we have the exciting task of not only innovating the Waldorf curriculum for our unique community and environment, but also educating our community about Waldorf education.

Currently we have mentoring and guidance from WECAN and AWSNA and our current teachers, who each have over 20 years of early childhood teaching experience, will be enrolled in AWSNA/WECAN certified Waldorf teacher training beginning summer 2018.

Our ideal candidate is excited that the school is in its starting phases, is willing to work together to shape the school culture and processes to appropriately nurture each child and family’s growth and development, and is also always pursuing opportunities to grow professionally and personally.

A certified Waldorf teacher with minimum of a bachelors degree is ideal, but we are open to teachers that are currently enrolled in an AWSNA/WECAN accredited teacher training program that has or is working towards her/his bachelors degree. We are also willing to help candidates complete their certification and/or bachelors degree.

Willingness to relocate to Las Vegas required and ideally there is a commitment to a long-term relationship with the students, families, school and our greater community.

For the 2018/2019 school year, our school hours will be Monday-Thursday 830am-300pm, with a half day on Friday reserved for faculty meetings, artistic development and anthroposophical studies.

Las Vegas is a unique and interesting city with lots to offer including incredible nature, beautiful weather, a very international community, affordable quality living, and lots of room for growth.

Please submit your resume with a letter of interest to [email protected] and we will contact you to set up an interview and discuss specifics regarding the program, compensation, etc. Please contact us at the email listed with any questions.
