High School Science & Math Teacher
WWS is seeking a full-time High School science & math teacher beginning in fall 2018.

Requirements include a bachelor’s degree or higher. Advanced degree, high school teaching experience, and Waldorf teaching credentials are preferred. If coming without Waldorf teaching credentials, applicant will be required to participate in additional professional development / Waldorf training.

Duties include teaching some or all of the following science courses
• Main Lesson Blocks (classes daily for 3-4 weeks)
- Grade 9 Organic Chemistry
- Grade 9 Anatomy
- Grade 9 Geology
- Grade 10 Physiology and Embryology
- Grade 10 Acids, Bases and Salts
- Grade 11 Atomic Chemistry
- Grade 11 Botany
- Grade 12 Zoology
• Quarter-long Courses (classes 3/ week for 9-10 weeks)
- Grade 9 Health
- Grade 11 Cell Biology

One or more of the following year-long math skills courses
• Grade 9 Algebra
• Grade 10 Geometry
• Grade 11 Pi & Trigonometry

And possibly a whole high school elective.

In addition, full-time faculty responsibilities include the following:
• Classroom teaching, including class preparation and grading
• Work with adolescents with a variety of learning styles and different levels of skill and ability
• Advise up to 10 students (includes parent meetings, college recommendations)
• Sponsor a class (includes parent evenings, class activities, weekly class forums)
• Curriculum development
• Professional development / Waldorf training
• Faculty meetings and committees
• Participate in planning and chaperoning student trips/activities (includes week-long trips in May, possibly a week-long trip in September, school dances, field trips)
• Attend and assist in school events and fundraising
• Work collaboratively with colleagues and parents
• Manage and maintain classroom(s) / physical spaces, equipment and supplies.
