Development Director

City of Lakes Waldorf School seeks a Development Director who will serve as the primary fundraiser for the school and who will educate our community about the needs of the school and inspire their financial and volunteer support. The Development Director creates and implements annual and long-range development plans to secure major gifts, annual giving, selected grants, and fundraising events. City of Lakes Waldorf School will celebrate 30 years and 100 years of Waldorf education in the 2018-19 school year with a launch of a capital campaign. The Development Director will guide and support the work of the development committee and ensure that the work of that committee supports both short and long-term goals and objectives of the school. The Development Director is also responsible for maintaining an accurate fundraising calendar, managing the development budget, and maintaining an efficient record keeping system for all developmental and fundraising work. The Development Director is a key person for outreach and public relations who will promote the school’s philosophy as it relates to the goals and objectives of City of Lakes Waldorf School, as well as the person who fosters the link to our Alumni and their parents. The Development Director reports to the Administrative Director and works closely with administrative colleagues, the Board of Trustees, the College of Teachers and Parent Association representatives to establish and support a culture of giving within the School and build goodwill on behalf of City of Lakes Waldorf School beyond its immediate community.

City of Lakes Waldorf School is an accredited, full member school of the Association of Waldorf Schools of North America and the Independent School Association of the Central States. We offer a preschool to Grade 8 education for more than 260 students, including Spanish, Eurythmy, movement and games, handwork, woodwork, circus and music (recorder, strings and chorus) and after school sports programs. Our parent/child program introduces young families to Waldorf education. Our experienced and creative faculty, led by the College of Teachers, is dedicated to excellence in Waldorf education and the development of curriculum to reflect our diverse, urban community. Our school celebrates its 30th year in 2018 and is currently implementing a strategic plan for the future. Our Board of Trustees and talented and dedicated parent community support our 50 full- and part-time members of the faculty and administrative staff.

Qualifications and Benefits
Demonstrated experience as a leader and fundraiser, preferably in a non-profit and/or educational institution; knowledge of and ability to articulate the mission of City of Lakes Waldorf School and Waldorf education; Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
