First Grade

First Grade Teacher

Dec 01 2017 | The Waldorf School of Garden City | Garden City, NY

A bright, energetic, eager and large group of first graders is looking for a Class Teacher to take them on their Lower School journey. With an equal balance of boys and girls -- most of whom have attended our school Parent Child Classes – this lively and diverse class brings with them dedicated, supportive parents.

We invite qualified teachers to explore joining our vibrant Waldorf school community. Requirements include an undergraduate degree and completion of Waldorf teacher training, with advanced degree work a plus.

Dedicated to working out of Rudolf Steiner's picture of child development, our faculty reflects a blend of youth and experience, and our school values and encourages both creativity and initiative. The School’s comprehensive benefits package includes health, life, and disability insurance, along with a school-funded retirement account, and ample funds for professional development. With a comprehensive salary range, based upon experience, and supplemental salary options available, our school is committed to supporting its faculty.

Serving 365 students from early childhood through high school, the Waldorf School of Garden City offers a number of additional programs, including Parent-Child Classes, an Afternoon Program and Homework Club, as well as Summer Programs in both Garden City and at the School’s 250-acre extended campus in New Hampshire. Long Island is home to a strong anthroposophical community, and the Winkler Center for Adult Learning provides a well-established Foundation Studies at our School facility. The Waldorf School also has strong relationships to Adelphi University and other area colleges. As an Equal Opportunity Employer, The Waldorf School of Garden City seeks candidates who will add to the diversity of our community. More information about our 10-acre campus in Garden city and our 225-acre extension Glen Brook campus in Marlborough, New Hampshire can be found at www.waldorfgarden.org
