Kindergarten and Early Childhood

Lead Kindergarten Teacher

Jan 10 2018 | The Acorn School | Charleston, SC

The Acorn School is seeking a trained Waldorf kindergarten teacher for the 2018-19 school year. This will be a full-time position.

We are the first Waldorf school in the state of South Carolina and are planning to grow into a full K-6th grade program. Our school opened in September of 2016. We are thriving, and now want to add a second kindergarten class.

The Acorn School has an experienced staff. Our teacher, Christi Nordoff, has over 25 years of Waldorf Kindergarten teaching experience. Our Director, Lee Stevens, has over 20 years of experience as a Waldorf class teacher. We are fortunate to have other long-standing Anthroposophists to help guide the school’s development.

Ideally our candidate will have a college degree, the Waldorf training, and lead teacher experience. This position will require a great deal of flexibility as responsibilities will include early care, after care, and the possibility of working on the summer program.

Charleston offers a thriving economic and cultural climate. With major companies like Boeing, Mercedes and Volvo moving into the area the demand for quality private education is high. Other important details are the good weather, the easy access to the ocean, and the superb food scene.

The Acorn School of Charleston does not discriminate on the basis of gender, race, color, religion, sexual orientation or national and ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies, admissions, hiring, scholarship or other school-administered programs. We offer a competitive salary and encourage experienced teachers to apply.

For more information about this opportunity please contact our Director Lee D. Stevens, Ph.D. at [email protected], or call 843.501.2780. You may want to visit our website at www.aschas.org.
