General Description:
This position will be qualified and available to teach and oversee a 1st grade through 12th grade Waldorf music curriculum and adjunct music teachers beginning in August 2018. As a full time member of The Denver Waldorf School faculty, you are joining a group of individuals whose foundation in pedagogy is Anthroposophy.

General Requirements:
All teachers are members of the Pedagogical Council, which meets weekly. All full time faculty are expected to participate in these meetings and to notify the faculty chair if they will be absent for any reason. Participation includes back-to-school meetings the week before school starts and end-of-year meetings. You will be expected to attend meetings and complete class set-up prior to the beginning of and after the closing of each academic year allowing such time as the Pedagogical Council deems necessary.

Additionally you will be required to:
• participate in school events such as assemblies, festivals, work days, fairs, etc.
• be a member of at least one standing and/or ad hoc committee
• participate in all faculty in-service days, retreats and teachers’ conferences
• meet with parents twice yearly for conferences and write year-end reports
• participate in evaluation & mentoring as outlined in the Evaluation Statement of Intent

Skills, Abilities and Key Requirements:

• enthusiasm for and commitment to teaching a full Waldorf grades and high school curriculum
• a growing relationship to Anthroposophy is required
• previous Waldorf teaching experience is preferred
• singing, pentatonic flutes, recorder, lyre, choral and orchestra direction
• background in violin, viola, cello and woodwind instruments preferred
• manage and maintain classroom and supplies

Education Requirements/Certification:
• Waldorf teacher training certificate preferred
• Bachelor’s degree required
