We are looking for a full time Pedagogical Administrator, beginning the 2018/19 school year, to join us in beautiful Seattle, Washington! With a campus located in the vibrant Capitol Hill neighborhood of Seattle, we are spoiled with dramatic mountain and water views as well as direct access to downtown. Our school is ideal for those looking to strike a balance between exploring the natural world as well as enjoying all the things a world-class city has to offer.

Working out of a sense of Anthroposophy and in a collaborative manner, the Pedagogical Administrator ensures that the educational efforts in the school are in keeping with Bright Water Waldorf School’s commitment to providing the best of Waldorf education to all its students.

The Pedagogical Administrator works closely with the Head of School on educational matters such as faculty performance management, faculty mentoring programs, professional development, and upholding the school’s curriculum standards. In addition to providing leadership and guidance to the faculty on Waldorf Pedagogy, the Pedagogical Administrator also serves as a touchstone for the school’s Parent Association in the development and promotion of parent education at the school and in the region.

The Pedagogical Administrator also serves as the Acting Chair of the Pedagogical Committee; coordinating and developing the agenda for weekly meetings and creating tangible outcomes for the year (e.g. Anthroposophical Studies, protocol for self-evaluations and reviews).

The ideal candidate will…

Hold a Bachelor’s Degree
Hold a Waldorf Teacher Training Certificate
Have a minimum of 8 years of satisfactory Waldorf classroom teaching, at least four years taught consecutively
Have previous administrative experience - preferred
Have experience with K-8 curriculum development and pedagogy
Possess outstanding interpersonal, leadership and organizational skills
Have a professional demeanor and personal appearance
Exhibit competent computer skills
Have the ability to work collaboratively with staff, teachers, parents and community groups
Possess a willingness to seek help when needed
Demonstrate a positive attitude and sense of humor
Be a self-motivated person who is able to work independently
Able to hold multiple issues/concerns/projects at once and follow through with them
Able to cope successfully with stressful situations, schedules, and deadlines
Be professional and personable through effective communication skills, both written and verbal

Pass fingerprint background check
CPR/First Aid training, Bloodborne pathogens training
Able to walk up and down stairs
