Summary:

San Francisco Waldorf High School seeks an enthusiastic and experienced teacher for a position teaching High School Earth Science in the 2018-2019 school year. The ideal candidate would be comfortable teaching Earth Science main lessons in all grade levels (9th-12th) and experienced with Waldorf’s pedagogy and approach to teaching science phenomenologically. Specific teaching load will depend on expertise and interest but includes Geology, Meteorology/Oceanography, Thermodynamics, and Environmental Science and Habitat. The ability to teach to a wide range of student abilities and sound classroom management skills are essential for the job. We are looking for a candidate who wants to be part of the life of a Waldorf faculty and work in a highly collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required
• Graduate degree highly recommended
• Waldorf Teacher Training preferred
• Significant high school teaching and experience working with teens important
• Please list other areas of interest to offer to the high school curriculum

Benefits and Compensation:

This is a .65 to 1 FTE position depending on the qualifications of the person we find. Benefits include medical (for .75FTE or higher), dental, flexible spending plans, retirement plan (after one year), and pro-rated tuition remission (by FTE) for eligible dependents. Salaries are paid on a 12-month schedule.


Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

• Be able to occasionally lift up to 30 lbs.
• Work intermittently in outside weather conditions, including heat and cold
• Regularly sitting or standing 4-8 hours

FLSA Classification: Faculty; Exempt from overtime
