First Grade

Grade One Class Teacher

Feb 13 2018 | The Waldorf School of San Diego | San Diego

The Waldorf School of San Diego is seeking a dedicated teacher to embark on an eight-year journey with a class of eager first graders in Fall 2018. Must hold a Bachelor’s degree and have completed a Waldorf Teacher Training program.

To apply, please send a cover letter, including a brief personal biography, references, and a professional resume to human resources through Colleen Collazo at ccollazo@waldorfsandiego.org.

The Waldorf School of San Diego is in its 36th year in service to the community and serves children from Nursery through 12th grade. The school year 2018-19 marks the tenth year for the high school and the seventh graduating senior class. Current school enrollment is approximately 300. We have two campuses (just one mile apart) — the Altadena Campus serves Nursery through 8th grade, and the Colina Campus serves grades 9-12. Two kindergartens and two nurseries support the healthy enrollment of future grades. We are also pleased to have a solid and energetic administration. With the strong support of our parents, the operation of the school is guided by the faculty, which includes subject teachers for music, games, strings, winds, foreign language, handwork, woodwork, gardening, choir ensemble, orchestra ensemble, band, and eurythmy.

Our school is located in a diverse neighborhood, close to the city and beaches, and not too far from the mountains. The school is perched on a hill with a view of Mount Miguel. In the winter months, snow-capped peaks are visible to the east. Mexico and the coast are visible to the south. The climate is mild most of the year with daytime temperatures averaging in the 70’s.
