Our new teacher will be bringing the Waldorf Education principles and curriculum to a group of lower grade children, ensuring that the program meets the need of each child according to the indications given by Rudolf Steiner. This program includes preparing lessons as well as celebrating Festivals and children’s birthdays.

Our small Waldorf-inspired school is located in beautiful, bilingual Ottawa; a vibrant capital city full of culture and opportunities for outdoor activities. We offer programs for children from Birth – 3 years in our Parent and Child Program, Kindergarten and Grades 1 through 5. Responsibilities:

· Manage overall classroom activities and the supervision of children during morning hours.
· Evaluate each child’s academic and social progress and report to parents regularly.
· Lead regular parent evenings and work one-on-one with parents to develop a more thorough understanding of the Waldorf curriculum.
· Attend all weekly faculty meetings.
· Assist and participate in the preparation of activities related to the school community such as field trips, open houses and spring fair.

Minimum Requirements:

· A bachelor’s degree or equivalent
· Experience working with young children
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills
· A strong commitment to personal growth and anthroposophy
· Excellent classroom management skills

Our school, now in its 41st year, offers a full Early Childhood to Grade Twelve program. Remuneration salary range for a full-time position is CDN $35,000 – $46,000 per annum FTE depending on experience and qualifications. Heart Pine School is being built by parents and teachers of the Morning Meadow Preschool and Kindergarten community and a dedicated team of Heart Pine teachers to support a love for life-long learning. The City School is seeking an experienced Waldorf Certified class teacher to lead a small class of 2nd Grade children beginning with the 2012-13 school year. The City School is an eleven year old private school in the San Fernando Valley of Los Angeles. We presently have Preschool, Kindergarten and Grades 1-8 and serve children and families from diverse socio-economic backgrounds. Our ATA program (Accessible To All) allows children, whose families cannot afford the suggested tuition, to receive a Waldorf Education. We are in the process of applying for renewal of our status as a Developing Member of the Association of Waldorf Schools of North America. Our campus is situated on one-acre, in a community-like setting that includes raised-bed gardens, play structures, lots of climbing trees, and a separate ECC play area.

We are seeking a candidate who has obtained a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, has completed Waldorf training, and has class teaching experience. Our school strongly upholds Waldorf values. Additionally, there is a chance that a few incoming 1st Graders might make up a combined class with Grade 2.
