Parenting Program Director at San Francisco Waldorf School

The San Francisco Waldorf School seeks a Parenting Program Director to begin in the fall of the 2012-13 school year.

The Parenting Program Director is a half-time position. Responsibilities include:

· Manage and supervise 8 to 9 weekly 1.5 to 2 hour classes in “The First Three Years” program. Classes are offered in 3 – 10 week sessions. The Director teaches 5 of these classes, the other 3 to 4 weekly classes are taught by hourly teachers. Classes may vary but all include a parent and child component. Example classes may include Baby and Toddler Observation, Craft Classes, Cooking Classes and the Family-in-Nature Classes. Most classes also include an assistant. Duties include preparing employment letters, approving timecards, training and feedback, on-going support and communication. · Set-up for classes approximately half an hour before and take down half an hour after the classes. Set-up on Monday and take-down on Friday are more extensive. · Manage relationships with the Swedenborgian Church including calculating and requesting rent, preparing formal letters to the church, caring for all furnishing belonging to the church, maintaining a clean kitchen area. · Manage online registration systems and set-up and enforce registration policies.

· Maintain communication and community relationships with parents and potential parents in the class.

· Attend the Early Childhood faculty meeting, 2:30-3:45 on Mondays and the Grade School faculty meeting 2:15 – 3:45 on Thursdays.

REQUIREMENTS

· Director must have a Waldorf Teacher Training Certificate. · Be familiar with like-minded approaches to Waldorf, for example RIE. · Be able to nurture a community of parents and children who will later matriculate into the wider Waldorf School community.

Position Description
The Ottawa Waldorf School is looking for an experienced Nursery teacher who will be responsible for developing and implementing a morning Nursery program for up to 12 children aged 2 years and 10 months – 3 years and 6 months of age based on Waldorf pedagogy.
