Ashwood Waldorf School is seeking applications for a full-time middle school class teacher for fall 2024. This teacher will carry primary responsibility for Class 7-8.

Ashwood Waldorf School (parent-child through 8th grade) is seeking an enthusiastic, experienced, Waldorf-trained lead teacher for a middle school class beginning fall 2024.

Situated on a beautiful 30-acre hillside campus with views of the nearby Camden Hills, Ashwood is a small, thriving Waldorf school in its 37th year. We currently have approximately 72 students enrolled. Our grade school building is beautifully designed with spacious sun-filled classrooms and doors leading directly out to our wooded playground and extensive network of trails.

Our faculty shares beliefs that guide us in our work: a willingness to grow and develop, both individually and as a school; to work mindfully; to teach creatively and with love; and to nurture a supportive, diverse, and active community. We have a strong in-house mentoring program and master teachers visit on a regular basis. Nearby Camden has a group of the Anthroposophical Society and several ongoing study groups.

The colleague we seek will bring a passion for Waldorf teaching, strong leadership skills, and a commitment to supporting the life of the school as a whole. The grade school teachers are a close-knit team who often teach each other's classes. All of our classes are mixed-age. Our ideal candidate would be primarily responsible for one middle school class but could also teach classes or blocks in other grades as well.
