Rudolf Steiner School seeks a Part-Time Upper School Evening Receptionist. The Receptionist is responsible for managing the lobby area, including greeting and directing all visitors, enforcing safety and security policies and procedures. The person best suited for this position will bring a professional presence, energy, and enthusiasm and will be able to maintain a professional level of decorum in the entranceway and lobby with all community constituents which include, faculty/staff, parents and students. Success in this position will require a willingness to learn and to be flexible according to the fast pace and quickly shifting priorities. The Front Desk Receptionist must be good with families and children, understand their needs and respect confidentiality.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Greet and direct all visitors, including parents, prospective students/families, delivery persons, vendors, and other school guests
  • Manage lobby area by controlling traffic flow and ensuring an environment conducive to learning
  • Answer and direct all incoming calls, including retrieving messages from voicemail and routing messages to appropriate faculty and staff
  • Managing outgoing/incoming mail, including posting, sorting and signing for deliveries
  • Communicate with facilities team regarding any maintenance requests or concerns
  • Assist with additional administrative projects as needed and/or directed by the Executive Director and the Upper School Chair 


  • High School Diploma
  • Knowledge and experience working with Blackbaud and Microsoft Office Suite platforms
  • Organization and attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Professional discretion and good judgement
