Woodland Star Charter School is seeking a part-time middle school math teacher for the 2022-23 school year. We are a small public Waldorf charter school with one class per grade. Our math teacher teaches 5 periods per week in 7th and 8th grade, and 3 periods per week in 6th grade. While the math teacher is responsible for teaching and overseeing math instruction, you can expect collaboration with the main class teacher for leveled instruction to meet the needs of our students.
Provide a clear grading rubric for students
Teach middle school math lessons that meet the needs of our students
Provide availability for parent conferences twice per year
Assess and monitor student progress based on performance data
Collaborate with other middle school teaching staff
Implement accommodations for students on IEPs and 504 plans
Bachelor’s degree in related field of study
CA single subject teaching credential in related field of study with EL or CLAD authorization
Available to teach between 11am and 3pm every weekday except holidays
Strong classroom management skills
Enthusiastic and positive attitude for working with students of this age
Enthusiastic and positive attitude for the subject matter being taught
Strong organizational skills
DOJ criminal background check clearance
Mandated reporter certification prior before school begins
Waldorf teacher training
Waldorf teaching experience
2 or more years of experience teaching math to middle school aged students
Salary based on Woodland Star teacher salary schedule
Being a Waldorf public school, we are seeking candidates with Waldorf training and teaching experience. They are important to us, as is a California teaching credential.
