The Ithaca Waldorf School (IWS) is seeking an enthusiastic, organized and motivated teacher to assist in the Early Childhood classroom for children ages 3-6. Ideal candidates are friendly, open, well-spoken, warm, and interested in eventually completing full certification as Waldorf Early Childhood teachers.

The Ithaca Waldorf School has two Early Childhood classrooms, each taught by a lead kindergarten teacher with an assistant. All candidates should be able to provide a safe, nurturing, and orderly environment which meets the needs of the children in their care. Outdoor play on the surrounding farm, field and forests are part of the daily Early Childhood program.

The hours of this position are 11am-3:30 or 5:30 pm, Monday through Friday each week. If hours are desired to 5:30, that would include facilitating a small aftercare program. Professional development funds are available to assist employees with furthering their knowledge and understanding of Waldorf education.

Compensation is $15.50/hour and includes partial tuition remission, a retirement plan and healthcare benefits.

The independent, not-for-profit Ithaca Waldorf School is authorized by the New York State Department of Education to provide instruction through Grade 8. A fully accredited member of the Waldorf Early Childhood Association of North America (WECAN), IWS is currently an associate member school with the Association of Waldorf Schools of North America. The Ithaca Waldorf School is nestled in the New York Finger Lakes on an 80-acre organic campus composed of fields, forests and a biodynamic and educational farm.
