Cultivate relationships and develop philanthropic giving to achieve annual goals


Invite connection and encourage investment in Waldorf education Approach: Build relationships through participation in community events and outreach to major donors, investigation of grant opportunities


Donation metrics, tracked involvement and volunteer records, anecdotal evidence of connections to community

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of the Fall Annual Appeal
  • Manage all aspects of the Spring Annual Auction & Gala
  • Develop strategies to cultivate donors at all giving levels, including developing major donors, with a focus on personal relationships and gratitude for all types of contributions
  • Provide timely tax receipts and thank-you letters
  • Research and establish planned giving program
  • Establish and maintain parent engagement and development plans
  • Manage Development budget and record keeping
  • Work with Finance Director to ensure accurate data
  • Establish and maintain the donor and volunteer databases using BigSIS, Donor Box, and One Cause
  • Support Marketing and Enrollment Directors and Events Manager
  • Work with Parent Council to support class fundraisers
  • Establish an endowment
  • Report to the Board of Trustees regularly
  • Ensures creation of Annual Report
  • Other duties as assigned

The Development Director supports development of and attends the following events and activities including but not limited to the following:

  • Parent Committee development ~ Stewardship, Events, Outreach, and Orientation/New Family Welcome
  • Fall Annual Appeal
  • Festivals & Community Events
  • Spring Auction Appeal and Gala

As a member of the Administrative Section, the Development Coordinator also supports the activities of the Community Engagement and Events Manager, Enrollment Director and the Marketing and Communications Coordinator as needed.
