The Waldorf School of Princeton seeks two full-time (30 hours per week) lead assistants in our Early Childhood program.

The Job

Primary Function: To provide assistance and support to the lead teacher in an Early Childhood classroom (ages 2-6). To act as a substitute lead teacher up to 1 day per week. To act as a lead during the Summer Extension program and during February and April continuation programs. This position is ideal for someone undertaking the Waldorf Early Childhood Teacher training and who has an interest in becoming an Early Childhood Teacher in the future.

Skills: Ability to provide support and work cooperatively with the lead teacher; ability to work quietly and selflessly with both the children and lead teacher; ability to follow policies and procedures of the school. Ability to plan and execute developmentally appropriate activities. Ability to direct a classroom assistant.

Training: An interest in learning about Waldorf Education. Experience working in an early childhood setting is required.

Pay and benefits: This is a salaried, school-year position for 30 hours per week, including healthcare and 50% tuition remission. Salary is $31,400 annually.
