Golden Bridges School was founded by Waldorf-trained teachers and operates in San Francisco’s Portola neighborhood, serving Preschool through 8th grade. For the 2023-2024 school year, Golden Bridges School is looking to fill the following position: Kindergarten Assistant Teacher
Job Duties Include
- Float between 3 kindergarten cohorts (10 children in each), supporting lead teachers and students as needed
- Act as a bridge between the daytime and aftercare programs by supporting afternoon rest and snack time alongside aftercare staff
- Supervise indoor and outdoor free play
- Participate in aftercare team meetings as directed and attend up to one EC cohort staff meeting per month
- Maintain transparent, positive, respectful, and proactive communication with parents, teachers, and administrators about all matters regarding the program
- Be committed to working collaboratively with colleagues, families, and external professionals
- Attend all trainings and contribute to meetings and discussions of larger issues related to the EC program
- Support an environment that fosters the education and care of the whole human being
- Occasionally support other areas of programming
- Set up and clean up classroom activities
Qualified candidates will have the following:
- Be kind, patient, empathetic, creative, consistent, and dedicated
- Alignment with Golden Bridges mission to support children holistically
- 1+ years of experience working in an early childhood setting
Strong candidates will
- Be inspired to be a part of and help build a groundbreaking school
- Have prior experience working within Waldorf pedagogue
- ECE credits helpful
- Have some level of skill or knowledge for any of the following: knitting, crochet, sewing, art, music, paper folding, movement, storytelling, puppetry or related arts.
Salary:
$25- $27/hour
30-35 hours a week (between 9am-4pm)
This is a part time seasonal positions
This is a non exempt positions
All Staff are required to:
Undergo LIVE SCAN screening
Complete a mandated reporter training
First Aid and CPR Certification
