About the Position

HMS is accepting applications for a part-time movement teacher: grades 1-3, with the possibility of grade 5 pentathlon. 6 periods per week. Movement activities can include string games, parachute games, zoo animal exercises, and tag games.

Qualifications

Our preferred candidate is experienced with teaching movement to groups of children, has experience working in a private school environment, and is passionate about sharing their love of movement with young students. Patient, organized, and dependable, they are committed to excellence in the classroom, love working with children, and are eager to contribute to a strong community of dedicated teachers and students. 

Requirements

• Experience teaching movement classes to young children
• Waldorf education training, experience and/or knowledge preferred
• Spatial Dynamics experience a plus
• Organized, dependable, punctual
• Able to work collaboratively
• Passionate and authentic

Compensation

• The compensation for the position is hourly and commensurate with experience.

High Mowing School is home to over 330 preschool–grade 12 day and boarding students. We are committed to fostering a caring, respectful, and diverse community where academic success, personal growth, and social responsibility are highly valued and fostered.  

In 2017, Pine Hill Waldorf School merged with High Mowing School, creating a thriving, integrated preschool–12 school that offers students, families, and teachers more opportunities. This year, HMS has returned to its full pre-pandemic festivals and events, supporting a strong community life. The renewed Parent Association is actively leading an engaged parent body interested in supporting teachers and families.

Travel a bit further to Montreal in Quebec, Canada, for a weekend with an international feel.

Southern NH is home to many anthroposophical pursuits: our next door neighbor is the Temple-Wilton Community Farm, a long-established biodynamic CSA; the Center for Anthroposophy and NH Anthroposophical Society hold many educational and community opportunities; there are two local lifesharing communities and a variety of alternative health providers.
