Community School for Creative Education (CSCE) is the country’s first intercultural public Waldorf school. As Waldorf school, we are a trauma-sensitive TK-8 multi lingual full-service community school serving the diverse children of Oakland. We are among the most diverse schools in Oakland. We are deeply networked in our local community and globally as CA Waldorf Emergency and Trauma Pedagogy Center. We hold strong relations with partner Waldorf schools (private and public) and with like minded school reform partners. We were proud that our African American students were the highest achieving in ELA and Math in the 2019 State Test among district and charters alike. We are a living laboratory for harnessing the best of Waldorf in service of deep and lasting school reform for our children.
