École Chant’Arize is a Steiner-Waldorf school located at the foot of the Pyrenees in the heart of a biodynamic farm. Founded in 1995 with just nine children, it has since grown to welcome around 90 students from kindergarten to Class 7.
Our school offers a rich educational environment grounded in nature and inspired by the principles of Rudolf Steiner. We welcome each child as they are, respecting their rhythm, personality, and potential. Our pedagogy fosters joy in learning, self-confidence, harmony, perseverance, and responsibility.
Our multidisciplinary and international team includes trained Waldorf teachers and specialists in eurythmy, languages, and physical education. We integrate forest school elements and nonviolent communication to support child development holistically.
Chant’Arize is managed by a nonprofit association, La Gerbe de Blé, and governed through dynamic and participatory principles inspired by sociocracy and holacracy. Teachers, staff, and parents co-create school life through defined roles and collaborative circles.
Families are actively involved through workdays, festivals, and classroom support, reinforcing our close-knit and vibrant community. Meals are prepared on-site with organic and seasonal ingredients, many from our own biodynamic farm.
We are a member of the French Federation of Steiner-Waldorf Schools and are committed to evolving education that honors both the child and the world around them.
