Lead grades/class teacher job posting (March 26, 2023)
For the 2022-23 academic year, the Eugene Waldorf School is currently seeking an experienced class/lead teacher for the Grades classes. Established in 1980, our school has deep roots in the local community and provides a comprehensive Waldorf education to students in preschool through eighth grade. Our four-acre campus is nestled in the southwest hills of Eugene, Oregon which is a vibrant, artistic, and eco-conscious community. Eugene is located at the south end of the Willamette Valley with a rich cultural life and offers an abundance of natural beauty and outdoor recreation in the Pacific Northwest.
The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree, a Waldorf teacher training certificate, and experience teaching in a Waldorf school. They need to be able to pass a fingerprinted background check. In addition to lesson planning and classroom teaching, lead teachers are expected to meet and work with current and prospective parents, hold parent-teacher conferences, and prepare student reports. To support healthy collaboration in the school, each teacher works with a mentor, attends weekly faculty meetings, assists with school events, and joins in committee work. In order to strengthen our school’s commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging work, as well as implementing trauma sensitive school practices, attending ongoing training/professional development sessions is required. Our school currently offers the following specialty subjects: Spanish, Handwork, Movement, Strings, Guitar, Woodwork, and Gardening.
Benefits include: paid health insurance for employee and family, retirement plan with 2% employer contribution, tuition remission for dependents and professional development funds. We look forward to meeting candidates who feel inspired to join our school community and are passionate about Waldorf education! Interested candidates should send a cover letter, resume, and references to nicole.morrison@eugenewaldorf.org. Please visit our website at www.eugenewaldorf.org to learn more about our school.
