Imagine that by creating a space for meaningful collaboration and creative problem-solving, a farm could become the classroom for the next generation.
All parents want a better world for their children. Everyone wants a healthier planet. The Ecology Center empowers both these outcomes through a suite of homeschooling enrichment programs for children in grades 1 to 8. Designed for families in search of a holistic framework for their child’s education, Farm Raised is an exceptional program for learning core academic subjects through the lens of nature. Under the guidance of our Waldorf-inspired teachers, with input from experts and artisans in our Village, Farm Raised uses the patterns of nature, the philosophy of regenerative agriculture, and the practices of our 4 seasonal rotations to instruct and illustrate foundational curriculum, including history, science, math, social studies, and more. More than just enrichment, Farm Raised offers a uniquely experiential model of education that will resonate deeply with children who love learning.
School On the Farm
Our Farm Raised curriculum follows the same 4 seasonal rotations that guide our practice of regenerative agriculture on The Ecology Center farm. Each 12-week session draws from the agricultural work and environmental conditions specific to that season, providing a meaningful framework for internalizing the principles and skills in each day’s lesson.
