We are a warm, busy family of five seeking a kind, reliable, and flexible part-time helper (an alternative to an au pair) to support our home life beginning January 2026 or later (start date flexible). Our home is located in Bergen County, NJ, just minutes from Green Meadow Waldorf School and the Threefold Educational Center, making this an ideal opportunity for someone connected to or interested in the Waldorf community or anthroposophical community in our area.

About Our Family

• Family of 5: Two school-aged children attending Green Meadow and one infant

• Mom is a stay-at-home parent who could use extra support

• We maintain a media-free, screen-free home environment around our children and value a calm, mindful household rhythm (internet and media use on personal space and time is welcome)

• No pets currently

• Spacious home with a private room for the candidate and a shared bathroom

What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate is:

• Responsible, caring, grounded, and aligned with a low-media lifestyle

• A non-smoker, with no vices or habits that would be incompatible with a child-centered family environment

• Able to drive (occasional school/activity drop-offs and pick-ups)

• Comfortable helping with a mix of childcare, household support, and family routines

• Open to a flexible, part-time schedule that can be shaped collaboratively

Responsibilities May Include

• Helping care for the baby while Mom handles household tasks, errands, or spend time with the older children

• light household support (tidying, meal prep assistance, organizing shared spaces)

• Assisting with school/day transitions for the older children

• Occasional driving of children to and from school and activities

• Supporting a calm, screen-free home atmosphere

Compensation & Hours

• Hours are flexible and will be mutually agreed upon

• Pay or stipend is flexible, depending on availability and arrangement

• Private room included; bathroom is shared

Start Date

• January 2026 or later — we are happy to work with the right person on timing
