Raphael’s Garden Preschool/Kindergarten is seeking an experienced four-day lead mixed age (3.5-6 year-olds) teacher for the 2024-2025 school year to join our dedicated faculty and vibrant Waldorf-inspired community at our school in Denver, Colorado.
Settled on a large, tree-filled property, Raphael’s Garden is a therapeutic, developmentally appropriate kindergarten drawn from the Waldorf tradition. With a small class size (capped at 10), the physical and emotional well-being of each child is nourished. Our inclusive community welcomes a wide range of children and families, offering movement therapy and parenting support as part of our kindergarten program.
The school director and lead teacher is being called to disseminate her knowledge on a grander scale than her time currently allows. Raphael’s Garden will always be an important vision of hers, and while relinquishing her role as lead teacher, she will stay on as the school’s administrator. These circumstances provide the rare opportunity to receive hands-on mentorship by a respected and adored member of the Waldorf teaching community, with over 30 years of experience working with children and parents in homes and Waldorf school communities. Her extensive experience is made even more unique by her studies and deep understanding of the importance of movement.
Ideal candidates will have a confident classroom presence with strong social and communication skills, a love for children and teaching, with the ability to work well with parents, and are receptive to mentoring and future training. We are seeking candidates who have their Waldorf teaching certificate or are currently in training. Candidates with experience working with therapeutic modalities are highly preferred. Director qualification for the state of Colorado is also preferred but not required.
