Winterberry is a tuition-free, charter school of the Anchorage School District, committed to offering a holistic education inspired by the educational pedagogy of Rudolf Steiner, founder of Waldorf education. Winterberry began in 2005, wanting to bring the love of Waldorf to all students, completing its 20th year.

Our school educates one class per grade K-8, teachers looping with their students from Grade 1 to Grade 8 and Kindergarten being centered around a play-based and holistic approach. Our teachers are uniquely trained for each upcoming year to cultivate the innate potential of each child and feed a lifelong love of learning through connection, presence, play and storytelling.
