Academic Support Coordinator
The Hartsbrook School is seeking applicants for an Academic Support Coordinator for the 2023-2024 school year to work with students Grades 1-8.
A successful candidate will demonstrate the capacity to:
- Work with the IEP process and coordinate academic support needs from a curricular point of view.
- Support students’ reading, writing and math skills
- Facilitate executive function coaching, and all other academically-related supports primarily for grades 2-8.
- Work in collaboration with the class teachers to design modified curriculums and classroom accommodations to meet every student and their abilities
- Contribute to as well as engage a diverse and inclusive school culture
This teacher will participate in the life of the school, including attending faculty meetings, some parent meetings, student retreats, and other school functions as indicated and compensated for in the contract. For a complete job description, click here.
Qualifications
We seek candidates with:
- Preferred Orton-Gillingham Certification, or comparable certification appropriate to address the academic needs of those students identified in need of specialized academic instruction
- Familiarity with and passion for Waldorf educational principles
- At least three years of tutoring, teaching, or other relevant experience with Grades 1-8
- Experience and familiarity working with students with learning disabilities and differences
- Experience with writing reports and reading IEP service plans
- Strong interpersonal skills for working with a diverse set of students, parents and colleagues
- Excellent organizational skills
- Excellent references

Compensation
Starting at $44,166
